The intention of the villagers is to enable gram panchayats and other neighbouring villages to become self-reliant by helping the villagers get access to quality education, be gainfully employed and have access to quality healthcare.

Free computer education
Conducts basic computer course in Information Technology for school, college students and others. This course is organised during term holidays as well for high school children

Health camp
To improve the health of the community, YOKE organizes periodic camps for general health care, diabetic care, geriatric care, eye-care and dental care in association with Indian Medical Association, at the YOKE canter or at local school campuses. Free medical tests are also done from time to time for adolescent girls and women.

Nature conservation
Towards nature conservation effort, YOKE organizes vanamahotsav to plant trees and increase the green cover of the village. In association with Environmentalist Foundation of India, it undertakes the cleaning of water bodies such as lakes, tanks, and ponds. The quality of Tamraparni river water is monitored on a monthly basis for dissolved oxygen, pH value and sulphate, chloride and phosphate

NEET coaching
Program to coach government school children for the common medical entrance exam NEET.

Enjoy English
Yoke is collaborating with eight government schools to teach English as a language in the primary school. A modular lesson plan was specifically designed by a mentor, a professional in training teachers of English. The lesson plan integrates fun-learning with video inputs. This program has reached 150 school children so far.

Improving government school infrastructure
YOKE works with the local primary, secondary and higher secondary institutions run by the government to improve infrastructure like water supply, sanitation, and classroom infrastructure

Employment training
Job-seekers are trained for competitive exams such as the Tamil Nadu staff selection examinations. It also conducts soft-skills training such as conversational English workshop to boost the confidence of students seeking admission to higher studies or job-seekers looking for employment.
