WeCan is an organization working with differently-abled children such as dyslexia, Down syndrome, ADHD, autism, Asperger's, etc. It is a multidiscipli Read morenary initiative to provide remedial intervention to children with Learning Disabilities. These children have certified disabilities which have been diagnosed by psychiatrists and the medical fraternity. These are the children who often develop behavioural manifestations of underlying problems which lead to anti-social issues. Such children with learning disabilities have to be supported by specialists otherwise the learning gaps increase and they are forced to drop out of mainstream education. This leads to social disorder and loss of opportunities both for the child and the society. weCan works to channel these kids towards academic goals and ensure they remain a part of mainstream education. This is done by the use of strategies and therapies to deliver the mainstream curriculum. weCan tries to support as many underprivileged children as possible, regardless of financial barriers. The vision, mission and goal of the organization are, to promote and enable Inclusive Education and an Inclusive Society, to meet the educational needs of every child, irrespective of the diagnosis and prognosis of the wider educational and medical community, to elevate and optimize every child’s academic performance and social adaptability. Wecan Umbrella now includes ·         A special school- Savitur ·         A wholesome intervention programme for children who need functional academics- autistic/ MR etc ·         An academic support programme for the underprivileged schools and orphanages- Suryoday ·         Academic support for children opting for OBE and NIOS ·         Academic support to children with mainstream learning difficulties ·         Inset programmes in mainstream schools ·         Therapies - Occupational, Sensory, Speech, dance and movement, play therapy, counselling. ·         OPD and consulting services ·         Computer and robotics course to steer the kids to a pre-vocational activity
