  • Functional & Vocational Training Programme (FVT)

    States

    Madhya Pradesh

IDSSS is dedicated to educating and enhancing the capacities, skills, and knowledge of rural youth to enable them to secure profitable employment opportunities. To realize this goal, IDSSS is actively involved in skill development training programs and creating avenues for income-generating activities. Through this project initiative, it intends to offer employment opportunities and a steady income to 140 youth, both boys and girls, residing in tribal villages across Dewas, Dhar, and Indore districts.
The project beneficiaries are youth aged 18 to 20 years who face economic and educational disadvantages, primarily belonging to Dalit and Scheduled Tribe communities. They reside in remote villages or slums, often without access to skill development facilities for livelihood. Their families typically earn a monthly income of around Rs. 3000. Some families have small plots of land, mainly used for cultivation during the monsoon season, which proves insufficient to meet their needs.

  • Non-formal education

    States

    Madhya Pradesh

The project's target groups consist of children aged 4 to 15 years who are currently not attending school, residing in 32 villages. Approximately 800 vulnerable children within the community stand to benefit from the new Non-Formal Education (NFE) classes, as there are currently no provisions for non-formal schooling in the area. Additionally, the indirect beneficiaries include the family members of these children and the community as a whole.
The project's key objectives are as follows:
    1. To provide underprivileged rural children with opportunities to continue their education and prepare them for mainstream education.
    2. To enhance awareness about the significance of education among the rural population.
    3. To empower children to live with dignity and gain respect in society, demonstrating that they can excel alongside their peers.

  • Tailoring

    States

    Madhya Pradesh

Indore, being a hub for business and trade, boasts wholesale and retail markets that continue to expand each year. Numerous textile industries offer specialized training and employment opportunities to young individuals with a basic understanding of tailoring and embroidery. Therefore, the primary aim is to equip young people with the necessary skills and expertise required to pursue tailoring as a profession, ultimately enhancing the economic status of their families.
Objectives for the tailoring program include:
    1. Providing specialized training to 100 young women from slum areas under the guidance of a master tailor within a 12-month period.
    2. Establishing linkages and networks with banks, government, and non-governmental organizations to facilitate access to financial resources.
    3. Awarding diplomas/certificates to the trainees.
    4. 4. Empowering all trained young women to achieve economic self-reliance.

  • Inclusive Development of Youngster & Children with Disabilities

    States

    Madhya Pradesh

The primary strategy revolves around Child Empowerment, which entails enhancing the child's personal, social, educational, and economic capabilities. This strategy encompasses two fundamental elements: Child Development and the creation of an enabling environment for children.
Child Development: Under Child Development, the focus is on addressing any impairments that children may have, improving their overall functioning, and fostering resilience and self-awareness. The goal is to facilitate their participation in various aspects of life and empower them to advocate for themselves.
Enabling Environment: The Enabling Environment component aims to eliminate the obstacles that impede the active participation of children with disabilities in society. It considers various factors such as social infrastructure, communication, the attitudes and behaviours of individuals, and the policies of local government bodies.
