Programs

  • Mid Day Meal

    District

The budget private schools in Mumbai do not get mid day meals unlike Municipal schools. Since DBM focuses on education, we start supporting schools by first providing MDM. The children coming to these schools in slums often come to schools on empty stomachs as their parents (working as maids, auto drivers etc.) leave the house early. for many MDM is perhaps the only proper meal that they eat in the day. MDM also improves attendance, attention span and most importantly tackles malnourishment that is rampant in these children.

  • Vocational Training

    District

There is a huge dropout of students in the M ward as very few can afford to study. Many women drop o0ut as early as class 5, 8 and max by class 10. So there is aneed to skill these women so that they can stand on their feet. DBM has many courses for them like tailoring, beautician, ECCEd, Paranursing, Computer courses like basic, Advanced, Tally, DTP etc.
