  • Sanitary napkin project

    BIRDS collaborated with SHELTER international to set up a sanitary napkin manufacturing unit. The objective of this initiative is to empower marginalized widows and abandoned women. The aim is to provide a safe workplace for widows in a social business that will benefit other women and girls by providing affordable sanitary napkins.

  • Animal husbandry

    The training centre at Muthayalapadu offers training to farmers in animal husbandry. The centre has 15 adult buffaloes and 15 heifers in addition to ram, lamb, and goat. The centre offers exposure visits to farmer groups where they are taught the practice of breeding, raising, and caring for livestock animals for various purposes, including food production, work, and companionship.

  • Education

    BIRDS employs an innovative approach to education, harnessing the natural curiosity of children to impart essential skills such as mathematics, reading, and critical thinking. The institution adopts a holistic perspective when it comes to elementary, primary, and high school education. Teachers, administrators, counselors, and support staff collaborate to cater to the intellectual, social, behavioral, and emotional needs of each student.
    BIRDS High School adheres to the syllabus outlined by the State Council of Educational Research and Training (SCERT) Andhra Pradesh, while the primary and play school sections follow the Techno series, which is known for preparing students for prestigious institutions like IIT. The SCERT board has introduced a progressive approach known as Continuous and Comprehensive Evaluation (CCE) for students from Class I to X.

  • Community health services

    The community health centre has inpatient and outpatient departments. At the inpatient department, patients with conditions such as season diseases, diabetes, head inhuries, fevers, typhoid, and hypertension are treated. The outpatient wing of the health centre has treated patients with health issues such as water contamination, jaundice, and so on. The BIRDS DORIS pahrmacy medicines are available to the patients at a nominal cost. The health centre lab has collborated with Path care lab for special lab services. Patients can also avail the service of the hospital ambulance service.

  • Eleanor and Shearers Boarding Home

    This boarding home for boys and girls is supported mainly by the Doris family and Shearer’s families. The school provides not only academic education but also housing, meals, and extracurricular activities within the school premises. The boarding school also offer a structured and immersive learning environment that encourages personal growth, independence, and character development among students.
