A 29 years old Jana Kalyana Samakya is a registered voluntary professional not-for-profit development organization based at Parvathipuram in Vizianaga Read moreram District, Northern Andhra Pradesh, and Rayagada District of Odisha, India. JKS’s activities are spread over 4 Mandals /blocks in Vizianagaram district, Andhra Pradesh, covering nearly 174,000 populations in 442 villages/hamlets. JKS is on a mission to help farmers from severe water-stressed communities in Vizianagaram district of Andhra Pradesh, by creating water harvesting structures and bringing their farmlands under irrigation, resulting in increased crop yield, crop diversity eventually pushing farmers out of the poverty cycle. Each water harvesting structure has the potential to irrigate over 180 acres of land impacting over 120 small & marginal farmers.

Education and Child Rights
JKS has made significant progress in the areas of child development, education, and rights.
Through 97 NFE centres, 2425 dropout children were mainstreamed into formal education.
Following the residential bridging course, 525 child workers and out-of-school youth were reintegrated into regular schools to continue their education.
School Management Committees, women's Self-Help Groups, and pertinent community stakeholders possess the ability and support to advocate for and oversee children's education and rights.
The bridge school implemented Multi Grade Multi Level (MGML) activity-based teaching and learning in order to mainstream dropout students into the regular school system so they may finish their education.
Computer-assisted instruction, yoga, and extracurricular activities help the kids at the bridge school develop a variety of abilities.
