SHARON WELFARE SOCIETY(REGD.) is a voluntary, non-profit making, non-governmental organization in Andhra Pradesh committed to helping the needy, dese Read morerving orphans, handicapped, and underprivileged children of the society regardless of any caste, creed and religion by way of sponsoring in various educational schemes, health care and social upliftment. At the bottom, are the children most vulnerable and at risk of abuse. These are the children who live on the streets, under bridges and beside railway stations. Some are orphans. Some are driven away from their homes, and quite a few of them have run away from an abusive parent or step-parent. Some others, confined to the walls of their homes are forced into labour, sexual abuse or even prostitution. Alone, these children cannot have a nourishing childhood. Sharon Welfare Society started children home for these needy kids in 2010. In the Home, children live in a safe and caring environment, sometimes for the first time in their young lives. Here they receive nutritious meals and learn about hygiene. Regular health check-ups ensure that they receive their vaccinations, and their medical issues are duly addressed. Every child in the Home attends school. Some who have attended school before, continue their education at a nearby public school. Other children, who have never attended school before or those who dropped out of the schooling system for years, go to non-formal schools until they are ready to take the public exams.
