Engaged in a three-year program with Azim Premji Philanthropic Initiatives, SATRA addresses mental health issues since 2006. Using a baseline survey in 80 selected villages, they combat social stigma through awareness camps and rallies. Training caregivers to address medication refusal, they also prepare para-mental health workers. Recruiting and training staff, forming disability committees, and conducting regular mental health screenings, SATRA provides medicine and livelihood support, offering goats to patients. They perform wellness checks, reevaluate treated patients, and run programs for early detection in young children.

Disaster Management

SATRA has been actively involved in implementing the Brahmaputra River Basin Resilience Building Programme, a Disaster Risk Reduction (DRR) initiative, since 2011, with support from Oxfam (India). Their diverse activities encompass mock drill training, construction of raised bathrooms/toilets, task force training, emergency kit distribution, and more. Covering various stages before, during, and after floods, SATRA's efforts include constructing raised platforms for livestock protection, distributing flood-resilient seeds, conducting damage assessments, activating resource centers, and engaging in rescue operations. They have successfully covered 35 villages, vaccinated 25,000 livestock, supported 19,500 people, distributed relief camp kits, and conducted medical health camps, showcasing a comprehensive approach to disaster resilience and community support.

Akhoj Agoloi - A Step Ahead

SATRA is actively implementing the "Akhoj Agoloi - A Step Ahead" project in 15 villages of Darrang district, Assam, in collaboration with "Bread for the World." The initiative involves the formation of village-level right committees for each village and the provision of technical support through training on sustainable livelihoods. SATRA is actively engaged in gender mainstreaming and organizes awareness programs on flagship schemes such as MGNREGA and Swachh Bharat. Additionally, the organization has conducted studies on soil quality and the impact of plantation on soil and ecology in the southern part of Darrang District, raising awareness on various acts like the Food Security Act, MNREGA, Land Acquisition Act, and more.

Immunisation Project

SATRA is actively involved in addressing the issue of Lodor (Left Out Dropout Resistance) through comprehensive measures. The organization conducts surveys to identify Lodor cases and utilizes social influencers to create awareness within communities. SATRA provides training to Self-Help Groups (SHG) for Community and Civil Society Organizations (CPO-CSO) and distributes handwashing equipment to promote hygiene. Additionally, awareness camps emphasizing the importance of immunization are organized, and vaccination drives specifically targeting Lodor cases are carried out. SATRA collaborates with self-help groups to further promote awareness and maintains coordination with government machinery to achieve 100% immunization coverage.
