Project AVAHAN (Against Violence At Home – Act Now!) was initiated in May 2017 to combat domestic violence, This project challenges the normalization of domestic violence and aims to break the culture of silence surrounding it in 100 villages of Chirang.

Project AVAHAN operates on three levels:
    1. Support for Survivors
    2. Changing the Culture of Violence Against Women
    3. Advocacy

Significant progress and changes have been observed:
A decrease in reported cases of physical violence.
Families experiencing violence-free lives for extended periods.
Reduction in physical violence, although emotional and verbal abuse persists.
This initiative, while witnessing slow change, demonstrates promising results in reducing domestic violence and promoting healthier, non-violent family dynamics.
