Founded in 1996, the Infosys Foundation plays a pivotal role in fulfilling Infosys Ltd.'s social responsibility by creating opportunities and working toward a more equitable society. The Foundation supports programs across various sectors, including education, rural development, healthcare, arts and culture, and care for the destitute, with a mission to serve remote regions in multiple Indian states. With a focus on inclusivity, the Infosys Foundation carefully selects projects that address areas often overlooked by society. Initially, its programs were concentrated in Karnataka, but over time, the Foundation expanded its reach to include Andhra Pradesh, Arunachal Pradesh, Bihar, Delhi, Gujarat, Jammu & Kashmir, Kerala, Madhya Pradesh, Maharashtra, Odisha, Punjab, Rajasthan, Tamil Nadu, Uttarakhand, and West Bengal. The Foundation has made significant contributions to the development of schools across India, both in rural and urban settings. It promotes primary education among underprivileged children through global partnerships and has established over 60,000 school libraries across Karnataka under the Library for Every Rural School project. Additionally, it has provided books and educational materials to Door Step, a mobile school for underprivileged children in Pune. The Infosys Foundation also actively promotes traditional arts, dance, and crafts, with a special focus on supporting underprivileged artists who lack opportunities for growth. The Foundation offers financial support, promotes their art, and helps them gain recognition. It has organized cultural programs and provided financial assistance to artists in rural areas of Karnataka and Andhra Pradesh.
