The Ashden India Collective (AIC) consists of the 27 India-based winners of the Ashden Awards, who have been working towards sustainable energy. The c Read moreollective works towards a large-scale decentralized renewable energy (DRE) option that also promotes economic growth and social development. The members work across business, civil society, financial, and policy sectors. Its project 'Facilitating the Availability of Social Impact Products at the doorstep of Rural Households, with special focus on Improved Cook-stoves' works to reduce indoor air pollution in rural households. Ashden India Renewable Energy Collective (AIREC) has partnered with the Tata Trust to provide these improved cook-stoves in houses in villages. In order to help provide access of renewable energy sources to everyone, the Collective's 'Toolkits for Renewable Energy Deployment for Sustainable Local Area Development' spreads knowledge on Renewable Energy Technology and helps decision makers make decisions regarding Renewable Energy Technology. In addition, Ashden India Collective engages on various other projects, including researching and assessing the challenges and opportunities of implementing renewable energy, implementing policies on renewable energy, and making renewable energy more accessible to rural communities. It also hosts conferences, workshops and talks on the various issues facing the sustainable energy sector.
