It is produced in partnership with Ashoka University’s Centre for Social Impact and Philanthropy. IDR aims to be the voice of the social sector by bringing forth and collecting ideas lying with people, within organisations and in bits and pieces to the relevant people for them to act wisely. Its work includes publishing of research, facts and real world knowledge through thought stirring articles in simple understandable language, verified by a experienced editorial team. IDR takes responsibility of the truthfulness of Its articles whether it is a small matter or a critical issue. The articles are aimed to spread both successes and failures in the social sphere for other organisations to learn and implement. Along with giving details on public interest projects, It also dispenses functional information to provide relevant direction to organisations. Its efforts to digitise such information is enabling it to reach millions across the country and the world. Its outputs are read by urban as well as rural change makers who are working on developmental projects. The organisation consists of a mix of experts, practitioners, donors, development thinkers and researchers, grassroots workers, and activists. These stakeholders share their experiences of projects and social interventions, which IDR converts to simple terms and presents before the national audience. To keep profits and monetary aspects out of Its work, IDR’s articles are free to read, shared or be republished, the final sign off on all articles being retained with the authors. IDR's newsletter comprises of articles that are insightful, thought provoking and solution oriented. Each edition of IDR contains articles dedicated to expert's views regarding effectiveness of projects, schemes and proposals. It also proposes various possible solutions and outcomes: for example, same language subtitles in television programs helped those viewers who could understand the language but could not read. Various companies and consulting firms provide suggestions and feedback on issues such as how corporate sectors should work in partnerships for social causes, how good models that have already been effective can be implemented with little modifications, how to seek capital from impact investors and challenges with fundraising.
