Rural Reconstruction Organisation works towards the upliftment of marginalised society with special emphasis on the women and children with an aim to Read morefoster a self-reliant community. The organisation provides capacity building to community leaders and youth leaders belonging to the village development committees to help them understand their social and economic situation in a productive manner and look for potential solutions. It further helps to organise water user associations, self-help groups and mahila mandals to ensure participation in every strata of development process through in-house planning, implementation, monitoring and evaluation. Additionally, the organisation provides for education and health interventions for women and children with a special focus on mining and tribal pockets of the district. The core objective of the education programme is to strengthen the Village Education Committee and emphasise on the importance of primary education. It has also opened alternative schools for the dropouts and creche centres around the mining areas for enhanced development of children. Also, the organisation conducts a plantation programme in collaboration with the Forest Department and also conducts meeting, seminars, workshops and school based environmental programmes to spread awareness regarding ecological issues.
