JSW Foundation, founded in 1989, is the social development arm of the JSW Group, dedicated to enhancing the lives of communities, particularly those a Read moreround its operational areas. With a presence in 11 states and 15 districts, the Foundation impacts over a million individuals in these regions. Its multifaceted initiatives address key societal challenges. These include improving health and nutrition, enhancing the quality of education, providing employable skills to youth, ensuring water security through watershed development, promoting sanitation to make rural areas open defecation-free, conserving national heritage, and fostering sports. Through educational efforts, JSW Foundation has positively influenced more than 130,000 underprivileged rural children, while its agricultural, women's self-help groups and rural BPO initiatives have created livelihood opportunities for over 16,000 farmers and 10,000 rural women. The Foundation's commitment to sanitation is evident in the construction of over 7500 community toilets in rural villages. Additionally, it has assisted over 200,000 individuals in accessing government welfare schemes. JSW Foundation's work in preserving and restoring India's heritage sites, such as the Chandramauleshwar Temple in Hampi and the Kenneseth Eliyahoo Synagogue in Mumbai, has earned international recognition and prestigious awards.

Skill Development Programme
JSW Foundation, through its JSW Skills School initiative, focuses on enhancing the employability of youth and women. This is achieved by offering industry-centric vocational courses and upgrading teaching tools in Government Industrial Training Institutes (ITIs) across India. It operates six skill schools, partner with technical colleges, and contribute to the development of government-aided ITIs. Additionally, it empowers rural women with financial management skills and supports entrepreneurship. JSW Foundation has established collaborations with the National Skill Development Corporation (NSDC) and Maharashtra State Skill Development Society (MSSDS) to further their mission of skill enhancement.

Sports Programme
The JSW Foundation is dedicated to elevating the landscape of sports in India, aiming to make the country one of the top 10 sporting nations by 2024. It has launched the JSW Sports Excellence Programme (SEP) to provide athletes with high-quality training, equipment, and exposure to international tournaments. Its commitment to transforming Indian sports has already yielded results, with some athletes supported by the programme earning medals at the 2018 Asian Games. This dedication to sports development has earned the JSW Foundation recognition, including the Rashtriya Khel Protsahan Puruskar, and its athletes continue to excel on the international stage.

Agricultural Programmes
The JSW Foundation collaborates closely with farmers across 5,800 acres of land, aiming to enhance farm and off-farm incomes while aligning with sustainable development goals. It focuses on capacity building, water-efficient farming, and strategic partnerships. Key initiatives include Integrated Watershed Management, high-yield horticulture crops, and market connections. It also supports the transition from subsistence to marketable crops, like high-yield Banana plantations in Ratnagiri, providing resources and guidance. Its goal is to ensure sustainable prosperity for farming communities and make agriculture a preferred livelihood choice.

Environment, Water & Sanitation Programme
The JSW Foundation is dedicated to environmental preservation and sanitation, striving to address climate change through innovative technology-driven solutions. Its efforts include ensuring clean villages, water conservation, biodiversity promotion, sanitation improvement, and sustainable livelihoods. It achieves this through strategic partnerships, effective water management practices, and community institution strengthening. Key initiatives involve mangrove conservation, establishing a 'Nature Interpretation Centre' at Daroji Bear Sanctuary, restoring traditional water sources, collaborating with the Government of Maharashtra for water conservation, and working towards 'ZERO waste dumping' status. Its commitment to conserving the environment and promoting biodiversity is exemplified through these endeavours.

Healthcare Programme
The JSW Foundation, a global health and nutrition organisation, collaborates with Government and international entities to strengthen healthcare services. Its efforts include improving public health infrastructure, establishing multi-specialty hospitals, conducting outreach health camps, and providing supplementary nutrition. Notable initiatives combat malnutrition, operate a Special Newborn Care Unit, use GPS for child growth monitoring, address preventable blindness, and offer HIV/AIDS counselling. It also upgrades Primary Health Centres near manufacturing sites in pursuit of its mission.
