RangSutra Crafts, based in India, is a handmade crafts organisation with over 2,000 artisans from various regions of the country, such as Rajasthan, U Read morettar Pradesh, Chhattisgarh, Maharashtra, Kashmir, and Manipur. It was established in 2006 with the aim of providing sustainable livelihoods to these skilled artisans by connecting them to markets. The core mission is to create opportunities for inclusive growth by acting as a bridge between artisans and markets, promoting a fair trade process that ensures equal pay, fair wages, a safe working environment, and skills training for the artisans. The journey of RangSutra began with a group of artisans, designers, social workers, and investors coming together in the early 2000s. It harnessed traditional craft skills in hand embroidery, handloom, and pit loom weaving to create contemporary products while staying rooted in its commitment to rural communities. Over the years, RangSutra has faced challenges and celebrated successes, always guided by the inspiration of its artisans. Its vision is to be a globally significant handmade crafts organisation, delivering ethically sourced and environmentally friendly handcrafted products, while its mission is to empower rural Indian artisans, especially women, by providing sustainable livelihoods, skills, and market access. It aims to be a beacon of ethical and responsible craftsmanship in India, creating value for all stakeholders.
