Paul Hamlyn Foundation works towards improving the living conditions of the most vulnerable communities in India with an aim to create easy access to Read morebasic necessities, improved conditions of living and opportunities. For achieving its objective the Foundation provides grants, helps build capacity and supports NGOs working on similar objectives. It works in the areas of health, education, support for people with disabilities, shelter and other social development activities. The Foundation functions on the understanding that local agencies (NGOs and institutions) are well aware and recognise the opportunities that exist for communities. These issues can include gender inequality, social issues, conservation projects and increasing the efficiency of local environment and economy. Thus, the Foundation provides support in form of grants to local agencies to help create solutions for various issues while using local perspectives. The foundation has provided grants to 200 projects in 15 years.
