Gnana Deepam

Gnana Deepam has established a school to provide support to children with mental disability. The objective of the organisation is to impart education, Read more therapy and training to make every child self-reliant. The school provides academic, vocational, medical and psychological support to the children and their parents. The organisation reaches out to children with the help of Madras Development Program to understand their capacity to undertake specific therapy and skill training. The various categories of programmes include special education, physio therapy, speech therapy, occupation therapy, yoga therapy, movement therapy, parental guidance counseling services, psycho-social intervention and medical care.

The vision of Gnana Deepam is to impart training to make every child self-reliant and reduce the burden for their parents.

Established in March 1993 with just seven children, Gnana Deepam has grown to support approximately 32 children from low-income families, providing education and care for mentally challenged children.
