Yunus Social Business India has two initiatives working towards catalysing social business through capital and corporate action: the Yunus Social Busi Read moreness Fund Bengaluru (YSBFB) and the Indian Corporate Action Tank. The Yunus Social Business Fund is operated out of Bengaluru, and accelerates and finances social businesses by providing long-term debt or equity. YSBFB is an associate of Yunus Social Business Global Initiatives, which is headquartered in Germany. It focuses on early stage businesses working across multiple sectors, such as education, healthcare, livelihoods, clean energy, agriculture, water, and sanitation. These philanthropic venture funds support local social businesses with patient capital and hands-on support with the aim of creating employment and enabling entrepreneurs to solve social problems in a financially sustainable way. The Indian Corporate Action Tank is run as a joint initiative with the Tata Trusts, as an incubator which helps large companies design and build their own social businesses. Companies gain access to its mentor network to learn how to effectively address the needs of low-income, vulnerable and under-served communities around the world.
