Slam Out Loud operates as a non-profit organisation with a clear mission: using the power of performance and visual arts to develop vital life skills, Read more specifically Creative Confidence, in children from disadvantaged backgrounds. By focusing on skills like communication, critical thinking, and empathy, Slam Out Loud aims to empower these children and create positive transformations in their lives. The organisation defines Creative Confidence as a combination of six essential skills for the 21st century and Socio-Emotional Learning. These skills include creativity, communication, critical thinking, collaboration, self-esteem, and empathy. Slam Out Loud achieves its goals by immersing children in the transformative nature of arts, nurturing their creative abilities and self-assurance, building a community of innovative thinkers who can effect change, and offering platforms for them to express their unique voices. Its programmes, namely the Jijivisha Fellowship, Voice For All, and Arts For All (a response to the COVID-19 pandemic), further solidify its commitment to providing opportunities and support for these children to thrive. By engaging in artistic endeavours and developing these essential skills, Slam Out Loud aims to empower and broaden the horizons of the children it serves.

Jijivisha Fellowship Programme
The Jijivisha Fellowship is a paid, year-long programme that places fellows as socio-emotional learning (SEL) facilitators in low-income private schools in India. Through various art forms such as poetry, visual art, storytelling, and theatre, fellows nurture Creative Confidence skills in children.. Fellows engage with students in grades 5 to 8, develop lesson plans, collaborate with teachers and school administration, involve parents and the community, and provide SEL-based tools and activities. Slam Out Loud provides comprehensive support to fellows through training, mentorship, learning circles, events, and networking opportunities. Fellows have the chance to showcase their artistic talents and enhance their skills through both public and in-house platforms. After completing the fellowship, they can explore full-time or freelance roles with Slam Out Loud, as well as pursue diverse opportunities within the arts-in-education field in India and internationally.
