Programs
-
Child Development Programme
StateFocusing on child development, the organisation prioritizes the welfare of underprivileged children through a range of programmes. It operates a daycare centre catering to children from families engaged in agricultural work, providing a safe environment, preschool education, and meals. Additionally, the organisation addresses the nutritional needs of children living with HIV/AIDS, offering accessible and affordable local food to prevent malnutrition and disease progression, while educating parents about dietary precautions. Scholarships and financial incentives are granted to encourage the education of school-going children from economically challenged backgrounds, aiming to reduce dropouts and child labour. In remote rural areas, the organisation runs after-school tuition centres for economically disadvantaged children in grades 6 to 10, assisting with academic support and necessary supplies to ensure equal educational opportunities.
-
Skill Development Programme
Enabling women to acquire skills and achieve financial independence, the organization facilitates vocational training courses for disadvantaged women. Operating training centres in Guntur and Anantapur districts, it offers instruction in various fields including leaf plate making, tailoring, computer skills, bag production, and soft toy crafting. These courses not only instil a sense of self-worth and confidence in women but also create avenues for self-employment and job opportunities. By partnering with entities like NABARD and DRDA, these initiatives empower women to become providers and entrepreneurs, transforming their families' financial well-being.
-
Women Empowerment Programme
On International Women’s Day 2018, the organisation joined women's groups and allies at the Peddakurapadu Mandal Parishad Conference Hall to commemorate the event. Addressing pertinent issues such as sexual harassment, female foeticide, wage disparity, and women's political representation, the groups delivered presentations. In a collective commitment to their cause, all participants pledged to raise awareness and foster solidarity, working together to achieve their shared goals.
-
Drinking Water Programme
Operating in an area marked by low rainfall and designated as a drought-prone district by the Indian government, the organization addresses the challenge of access to drinking water in Anantapur district. Due to the scarcity, women and girls are compelled to travel long distances to fetch water, a struggle intensified during the arid summer months as water sources deplete. To alleviate this, the organization collaborates with community leaders to deliver drinking water to households through water tanks, directly at their doorstep, thus easing the burden on women and children.
-
Agriculture Transformation Programme
In the context of rural livelihoods and economic contribution, agriculture holds paramount significance in India, functioning as a pivotal sector for food security, especially among vulnerable groups like children and women. The organisation's primary focus lies in rectifying unsustainable agricultural practices in arid regions and enhancing the lives of landless tenant farmers. Through financial aid, 20 farmers have been assisted in procuring quality seeds and adopting pest management measures. In 2018, PNF extended its reach to ten farmer groups comprising 50 landless tenants across Gangupalli Thanda and Mannepalli Thanda of Bollapalli Mandal. The organisation also facilitated connections for drip irrigation, collaborating with the Department of Horticulture in dryland zones. Regular engagement and education on sustainable agricultural methods were conducted to empower these groups.
