The Mother’s Meal movement commenced by distributing food kits to five families in Project Vision Rural Campus on the outskirts of Bangalore on July 16, 2020. By the end of the year, the movement expanded to reach 3000 families across five countries, ensuring food security for those in need. As of April 2021, nine months of sustained support have been provided to these families. The objective of Mother’s Meal is to assist families in managing the economic crisis induced by COVID-19 by providing sustained support with basic food necessities through Mother’s Meal Kits containing essential items, priced at 500 rupees (7 US$), to supplement family income.
