Tech Mahindra Foundation, the Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) arm of Tech Mahindra, operates with a clear vision and mission centred around "Emp Read moreowerment through Education." Established in 2006, its goal is to foster an educated, skilled, and capable population. It aims to create purposefully engaged children, constructively employed youth, and a society that offers equal opportunities for individuals with varying abilities. The Foundation's CSR initiatives are aligned with the Mahindra Group's commitment to these ideals, focusing on key areas such as the empowerment of girls and women, the empowerment of individuals with disabilities, and corporate volunteering. These themes are integrated across all its projects and programmes, with a mandate to ensure that 50% of beneficiaries are women and 10% are Persons with disabilities.

Impact

Tech Mahindra Foundation has made a substantial impact, directly benefiting 394,727 individuals through various programmes, including training 156,748 youth for employability, supporting 49,409 teachers, benefiting 167,836 children, aiding 61,944 individuals with disabilities, contributing 57,515 volunteer hours in FY 23, and impacting 20,734 in community health and other initiatives.

Programs

  • Skill Development Programme

    Tech Mahindra Foundation's SMART Programme, launched in 2012 with three centres, is a flagship employability initiative. It initially trained 350 youth in various skills and has since expanded across 11 Indian cities, bridging the skills gap in manufacturing and service industries. Collaborations with YuWaah Organisation and Global Mentorship Initiative empower youth by connecting them to socio-economic opportunities and providing career-focused guidance. SMART Academies offer advanced courses in specialized fields, while SMART Centres focus on skill development for economically disadvantaged urban youth, emphasizing foundational job skills. This comprehensive programme offers a diverse array of domains and courses to enhance employability and career prospects.

  • Education Programmes

    Tech Mahindra Foundation's commitment to education empowerment is evident through its multifaceted programmes. It focuses on teacher empowerment, enriching learning opportunities for children, effective school governance, and enhancing parental involvement in primary school education. The ARISE programme collaborates with Government bodies to transform underprivileged children's access to quality primary education. The Shikshaantar teacher training programme empowers educators to create happier classrooms. Moreover, its Mobile Science Lab serves as a travelling hands-on laboratory, benefiting students in Classes 3 to 5. This holistic approach demonstrates its dedication to fostering an enlightened and empowered society through education.

  • Disablility Inclusion Programme

    Tech Mahindra Foundation is committed to promoting the inclusion of Persons with Disabilities as one of its major areas of intervention. Its focus is on ensuring social inclusion and equal work opportunities for a brighter future. To achieve this, it has established two premier disability programmes: ARISE+ (All Round Improvement in School Education for Children with Disabilities) and SMART+ (Skills-for-Market Training for Persons with Disabilities). The Foundation ensures that 10% of all its beneficiaries are Persons with Disabilities. SMART+ is a specialized programme launched in 2013, offering skill development with specially designed curricula and well-equipped classrooms to facilitate effective communication for Persons with Disabilities. ARISE+ concentrates on school education for Children with Disabilities, working with disabled children in Government schools to help them reach their full potential and integrate into mainstream education.
