Atchayam Trust is a registered (Reg.No-10/2014), non-governmental organization at Erode established in the year 2014 by a great visionary, Mr.P.NAVEEN Read moreKUMAR M.E, National and State Youth Awardee. The trust was founded with an ultimate vision, ‘Create a Beggar Free India’ and its mission is to strive with a holistic approach to provide a dignified life for homeless beggars, old aged, physically challenged, mentally ill and mentally retarded people whom all are wandering as destitute in the streets and are left as helpless.


Action

Focusing on eliminating poverty and social menace of begging by rescuing, providing basic amenities, rehabilitating through admission in respective homes, ensuring sustainable livelihood through capacity building by vocational and skill training programs in order to rebuild the lives of homeless and be self reliant, reintegrating the beneficiaries with one’s family in possible cases and periodical follow up. On addressing the root cause for begging, reducing the burden on public services and contributing to the achievement of sustainable development goals.

Successfully outreached various districts of Tamilnadu through an active involvement of 400+ enthusiastic volunteers and rehabilitated 1253 and counselled 11081 homeless beggars living on streets who are in dire need of food, shelter, healthcare and are deprived of love, care and affection in the journey of 10 years of excellence in service. Actively conducted 545 awareness programs and impacted 70,000 public directly, 2,00,000 public indirectly and 1,00,000 youths. Conferred with National Youth Award by Gov.of India and Chief Minister's State Youth award by Gov.of Tamilnadu and bags 70+ prestigious awards.

    Atchayam Beggars Rehabilitation Home for homeless, helpless and hopeless has been relocated on September 2022 from Soolai locality to NULM-Erode corporation building at Lakkapuram, Solarputhur which was allotted by Erode Municipal corporation.

    In the early days, it was inaugurated on December 2020 at Ram Nagar, Soolai of Erode district. The Rehabilitation Centre has been framed in a structured manner to provide counseling and training to the beggars and scale up our efforts to reach out large number of beggars in entire districts of Tamil Nadu. More than 350 beggars were directly benefited in our rehabilitation centre

  • Emergency Care and Recovery Centre (ECRC) for Homeless Mentally ill people

    Atchayam trust in association with Department of Health and Family welfare, Government of Tamilnadu, The Institute of Mental Health, Chennai & The banyan, Chennai is running the Emergency Care and Recovery Centre in Perundurai, Erode since February 2021. ECRC mainly works for wandering homeless people with mental illness. The main goal of ECRC is to rescue the persons with mental illness, rehabilitate them and after successful intervention, they would be helped to reintegrate with their family members.
