It creates impact locally through innovative projects that are sustainable and scalable to build a much stronger and resilient communities.


Issue

ORF works to address the larger issues related to Education, Employment, Environment, Emergency and Gender Equality. At ORF, we place a strong emphasis on research and development, continuously exploring innovative approaches and solutions to address socio-economic challenges. We excel in program management, ensuring efficient implementation and effective utilization of resources. Our data collection efforts enable us to monitor progress, evaluate impact, and make informed decisions to further enhance our initiatives. Currently, Odisha Rising Foundation (ORF) addresses various issues and vulnerabilities in Odisha Addressing Multiple Issues: 1. Enhancing Employability: Through skill development programs, ORF aims to enhance employability, equipping individuals with the necessary skills to succeed in the job market and contribute meaningfully to society. 2. Promoting Equality and Equity: ORF is committed to promoting equality and equity across communities, advocating for fair treatment and opportunities for all individuals, irrespective of social or economic status. 3. Advocating for Environmental Sustainability: ORF recognizes the importance of environmental sustainability and advocates for initiatives that protect and preserve the environment for future generations. 4. Effecting Positive Change: By empowering individuals and communities, fostering inclusive growth, and protecting the environment, ORF seeks to effect positive change in Odisha. 5. Creating a More Equitable and Sustainable Society: Through its initiatives, ORF aims to create a more equitable and sustainable society in Odisha, where all individuals have equal opportunities and the environment is safeguarded for future generations. Action

ORF designs bold solutions to complex problems faced by our communities. Our unique value proposition is our capacity to create broad engagement between central and state governments, NGO partners, local communities, civil society, and technical expertise to work at the systemic level to leverage transformation at scale. ORF collaborates with various stakeholders to foster rural and tribal development across thirty districts, with headquarters in Bhubaneswar and zonal offices in Sambalpur & Koraput, driven by Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) and NITI Aayog's guidelines.

Impact

Till date, ORF has touched more than a lakh lives across 12 districts of Odisha through its innovative and impactful projects, which are driven by values of transparency, secularism, and impartial. ORF remains staunchly dedicated to executing initiatives to further equity, inclusion, and equal opportunity for marginalized communities.

Programs

  • Employment Programme

    The Employment programme of ORF aims to provide dignified work for all, focusing on youth empowerment through skill development and entrepreneurship promotion. It invests in scalable and sustainable businesses, offering support such as coaching, counselling, and vocational training to prepare youth for employment. Collaborating with both public and private sectors, ORF works towards creating inclusive livelihoods, exemplified by initiatives like Project Swabalambi, empowering marginalized women entrepreneurs, and the Odisha Tribal Women Entrepreneurship Network (OTWEN), uplifting tribal communities through skill development and market connectivity. With a vision for long-term impact, ORF strives to enhance the entrepreneurial capabilities of marginalized youth and tribeswomen, fostering economic independence and community development by 2030.

  • Education Programme

    The education programme by the organisation transforms schools into centres of excellence, enhancing learning outcomes and infrastructure while strengthening governance. Collaborating with stakeholders, it implements innovative solutions to empower children, including the Navadarshan project for intellectually disabled children and the 1 Rupee Tuition Centers providing education to underprivileged children. Additionally, the Sampoorna Project revolutionizes education in aspiration districts, offering digital classrooms and standardized teaching aids to equip students with necessary skills, aiming to expand its impact to enable more students to contribute positively to their communities.

  • STEM Education

    ORF's STEM Virtual Learning Program, is revolutionizing education in rural Odisha's Kalahandi, Koraput & Khordha district. In collaboration with eVidyaloka from Bangalore and supported by LTMindtree, Infosys and CGI Companies, we have taken an innovative approach to enhance the learning experience for students in this region. At present, around 10000 students are attending the STEM Virtual Learning Program from 35 Schools from 3 districts of Odisha. By creating digital classrooms and providing standardized lesson plans and teaching aids, our aim is to equip 25000 students with the necessary knowledge and skills on STEM for a promising future within 2030.

  • Navadarshan - An inclusive and holistic support to Intellectual Disability Children

    In Odisha, as in many parts of India, negative attitudes and social taboos persist against people with disabilities (PWD). These prejudices have led to the neglect and exclusion of these vulnerable individuals, hindering the development of their inherent potential. Unfortunately, children born with disabilities are often destined for a life of dependency due to limited knowledge and skills within their families, resulting in a lack of appropriate support.
    The prevailing perception is that individuals with disabilities are burdensome and are kept separate from mainstream society. This segregation occurs socially, financially, mentally, and physically. In many cases, children with disabilities, particularly those with intellectual disabilities, are placed in special schools where they may not be adequately challenged, hindering their mental and physical development. Families, often favoring healthy children, may allocate more attention and resources to them, further exacerbating the disp

  • Project Ezer - A mental health and wellness program for youths

    The project focuses on disseminating information on the needs of children and youths with mental health conditions, raising awareness of cultural dimensions related to mental health, identifying critical intrusion for self-development and social integration, and increase understanding of support systems available to them for getting assistance and counselling. We have two active counselling centre in Bhubaneswar and Jeypore to attend the students and their concern.
