Issue
The most impoverished rural and urban households, typically families of six earning less than $3 a day, face heightened vulnerability during health or other emergencies, exacerbating socio-economic inequality. This hardship contributes to children abandoning the education system, early girl child marriages, and perpetuates a cycle of poverty. Despite the government's substantial annual investment of $400 billion in social policies, 40% of these initiatives fall short of achieving their intended results. Consequently, a significant portion of the poorest population remains vulnerable, lacking dignified livelihoods and access to free education

Right To Education- 12.1.(c)
StateRightWalk Foundation has been instrumental in the impactful implementation of the Right to Education (RTE) Act, specifically RTE 12.1.(c), in Uttar Pradesh. Our intervention over several years has led to a remarkable surge in admissions, from 54 in 2014 to an impressive 600,000 in 2023 for Economically Weaker Section (EWS) children.
Operating at the policy level, RightWalk initiated a transformative movement to overcome significant obstacles, ensuring the comprehensive activation of the RTE program across the entire state. This endeavor resulted in a swift increase in RTE admissions across all districts of Uttar Pradesh.
Our resolute commitment was underscored by our victory in a significant legal battle that reached the highest court, the Supreme Court. This achievement serves as a testament to our steadfast dedication to guaranteeing the universal right to free and compulsory education for all.
