Say Earth, an environmental NGO in India, is dedicated to water conservation through the restoration of water bodies and the establishment of urban fo Read morerests. It operates under various Government registrations and is led by Mr. Ramveer Tanwar, widely recognized as the "Pondman of India" and a respected environmentalist. Ramveer Tanwar has received training from esteemed institutions and has garnered praise from top political leaders, including Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi and Chief Minister Shri Yogi Adityanath. He serves as a Brand Ambassador for the Swachh Bharat Mission and holds other significant roles in environmental initiatives. The organisation's primary objective is to preserve India's hydrological cycle, rejuvenate depleting water tables, and protect ecosystems. Say Earth envisions a better future and seeks to achieve its mission by collaborating with NGOs, corporations, and Government agencies to address global environmental challenges. With a focus on water conservation, Say Earth has conducted numerous Jal Chaupals (water meetings with local communities) and engaged in cleaning and rejuvenating lakes and ponds across the country. It has also created new ponds in Uttar Pradesh, organised awareness campaigns in various settings, and installed Rainwater Harvesting Systems at multiple sites, demonstrating its commitment to preserving vital natural resources and fostering environmental sustainability.

Programs
-
Clean-Up Programme
StateSay Earth actively engages in clean-up initiatives, targeting the removal of non-biodegradable and inorganic waste, such as plastic, rubber, cloth, thermocole, and e-waste. It meticulously segregates and processes organic and inorganic waste into valuable manure and recycles materials appropriately. To prevent waste disposal into water bodies, it strategically installs dustbins in local communities and along pathways. Volunteers receive comprehensive briefings and participate in cleaning activities, including cleaning bunds, shores, and ground areas. Say Earth's efforts contribute to a cleaner environment and responsible waste management practices.
-
Rejuvenation Programme
StateSay Earth is actively involved in the rejuvenation of water bodies, including cleaning, earth excavation, desilting, and bund formation. It tackles non-biodegradable and inorganic waste removal, such as plastic and rubber, while also addressing sludge and silt removal to enhance water flow and reduce odour. These tasks are carried out through manual and/or mechanized processes. Its efforts extend to excavation and desilting from water bodies, further improving water flow dynamics. The formation of bunds plays a crucial role in strengthening and stabilizing streamflow, contributing to the overall restoration of these essential natural resources.
-
Filtration & Water Quality Management Programme
StateSay Earth implements eco-friendly and cost-effective methods to manage water quality and combat pollution in water bodies. Recognizing the slow pace of natural self-cleansing, the organisation employs sustainable technology-based solutions like constructed wetlands (CWs) and Floating Islands (FIs). CWs facilitate efficient water treatment through processes involving microbial degradation, plant uptake, absorption, sedimentation, and filtration. They are easy to maintain and effective for urban sewage treatment. FIs, on the other hand, utilize artificial floating platforms filled with aquatic plants to purify water by absorbing chemical contaminants. These methods play a crucial role in preventing household wastewater from polluting water bodies, contributing to improved water quality and odour control.
-
Rain Water Harvesting Programme
StateSay Earth actively promotes rainwater harvesting, a process of capturing and storing rainwater where it naturally falls. This involves straightforward methods like recharge pits to collect rainwater from various catchment areas such as roofs, pavements, roads, parks, and open land. The harvested rainwater is stored either in tanks for immediate use or directed into underground aquifers, whether natural or man-made, to recharge groundwater. This sustainable approach ensures that rainwater can be effectively harnessed and utilized for drinking and cooking purposes.
-
Jal Chaupal & Awareness Programme
StateSay Earth conducts "Jal Chaupal," a platform for discussing vital water conservation and waterbody rejuvenation topics. Through Jal Chaupal, it engages communities in conversations about issues like Ground Water Extraction, Water Pollution, Rainwater Harvesting, and Water Budgeting. This initiative not only raises awareness but also fosters an emotional connection between villagers and water bodies, emphasizing the significance of lakes and ponds. Water budgeting is a crucial aspect, enabling villages and cities to estimate their available water from various sources and plan its usage effectively. Jal Chaupal plays a pivotal role in educating villagers about water conservation and promoting responsible water use by aligning their needs with available water resources.
