Nanhimuskan is involved in development of underprivileged children through imparting education, skilling, rehabilitation of the orphans, awareness pro Read moregrammes and women empowerment initiatives. It has set up training centres where children who have dropped out from schools due to financial contraints. It skills these children in disciplines like Computers, Painting, Sewing, Embroidery, Knitting, Dance classes, Mehendi, Beautician, Repairing electrical gadgets. This helps the children, who otherwise would do petty jobs like rag picking and as labour, to get decent employment and income. The organisation is planning to set up schools to educate poor children. It plans to help the Government implement the Right to Education Act by imparting primary education to the underprivileged children and also school dropouts. It also plans to increase the strength of the Government run schools through community involvement. It has set up volunteers to look out for orphan children. These social workers identify orphaned children on the streets and help to rehabilitate them through counselling. They also try to send the children back to their families through interaction with the children and their families. For those youth who want to get employment the organisation arranges for training in Screen Printing, DTP Training, Carpentry, Plumping, Electric Wiring, Motor Mechanism. It creates awareness among the underprivileged communities by conducting sessions on legal rights, environmental conservation, Hygiene, Awareness of transmission of diseases like H.I.V, Tuberculosis, blindness and also contributes to the family control programmes organised by the Government. It helps in women empowerment through setting up of self-help groups and providing training to them on Jewellery making, Embroidery, Stitching, Pickle Making, Papad Making, Murabba Making, Agarbatti Making, Candle Making, Beautician and gives them appropriate wages for production of the materials.
