Gramothhan currently provides quality education to approx 1500 children from marginalized communities, through Innovation, School Transformation, and Read morecreating a local pool of Education Leaders. Approach: • Developing children as co-creator of content and pedagogy to take ownership of their own learning journey in a self-paced and self-designed manner. • Leverage community, for its resources and practices, to prepare teaching and learning resources. • Empower teachers to organize classroom experiences in harmony with the child’s ecosystem and references to the existing knowledge. • Design processes and practices for administration to ensure and implement in schools. Gramothhan has invested heavily in learning processes including training/capacity building, the repository of teaching-learning materials. Impact: In the last four years • 35 children, who were school drop-outs, enrolled back to schools. • It has served 10,000 children during Covid-19 with offline contextual learning solutions. • 100% children improved learning outcome in 6 villages. • 80% improved effective community participation in 6 communities. The plan for the next three years • Enable 10 existing government schools to become model schools with the help of community participation and school staff. • Create contextual academic resources for children to improve learning outcomes • Zero dropouts in Sonepur district. • Create a pool of 50 education leaders to sustain model schools.

Gramothhan Community Learning Canter (GCLC)
StateIn Sonepur district, Gramothhan has successfully established six community centres with the support of the local community. These centres are designed to offer a comprehensive and well-rounded educational foundation to children from rural and tribal communities, many of whom are the first in their families to pursue education. The learning centres prioritize the holistic development of children, emphasizing quality education and skill-building, and serving as mentors to support them in successfully completing their education. The Centre Facilitators leading this initiative are mostly local youth from the respective communities or nearby villages.

School Transformation Program (STP)
StateThe concept involves establishing a pair of demonstrative (model) schools that operate under identical conditions, utilizing the same set of resources and facing similar constraints. Despite these challenges, these schools aim to deliver quality education and learning opportunities to children, with active contributions from all stakeholders, including parents, the community, teachers, and government officials. These high-performing schools are envisioned to serve as catalysts for other educational institutions and individuals, offering inspiration, demonstrations, and experiences that encourage them to contribute effectively to the transformation of education within their localities and the entire district.

Community Library
StateThe community libraries aim to offer abundant reading resources accessible to everyone, providing opportunities for activities such as read-aloud sessions, storytelling, and art. These activities contribute to enhancing the creative thinking and profound imagination of both children and youth. Another vital goal is to establish a connection between the community and schools through various library programs. Additionally, it creates locally relevant stories, games, and pedagogical approaches in collaboration with students, youth, community members, and teachers.

StateThis initiative aims to concentrate on the development of youth and their involvement in community development. The goal is to cultivate a group of locally trained individuals who can actively contribute to the education system and the overall advancement of their communities through personalized mentoring.
