Programs

  • Alternative Education Programme

    District
    State

The Anwesha Foundation has taken significant steps to enhance school enrollment and provide a sustainable future for the nation and its youth. Despite these efforts, some children drop out or discontinue their education due to poor board exam results. Simultaneously, industries face a shortage of skilled production technicians. The organisation addresses this issue by offering an alternative education programme. Under this initiative, dropout children are enrolled and receive comprehensive training in literacy, mechanical and electrical occupations, English, Computers, Safety, and character development over a two-year period. A centre is currently operational in Anand, Gujarat, as part of this programme.

  • Plastic Hackathon Programme

    State

The Anwesha Foundation's Plastic Hackathon aims to acknowledge and reward student teams actively addressing plastic waste challenges. Its goal is to raise awareness and develop effective waste collection methods to prevent littering and burning. With a focus on Waste Plastic, it seeks to change consumer behaviour and promote recycling. Participants must form teams of 5, with one team per house at ADIT, and submit their applications before the deadline. Evaluation criteria include the impact achieved in a 25-day campaign, aiming to collect 500 kgs of waste plastic, and the execution of the campaign. A recommendation letter obtained through this initiative holds value for CVs and overseas admissions.

  • Waste Hub Programme

    State

Anwesha Foundation operates "Waste Hub," an innovative initiative with the aim of establishing a circular waste management system to combat climate change. Each Waste Hub is custom-designed to accommodate the specific waste generated in its locality, fostering a self-sustaining cycle of Take-Make-Collect-Upcycle. This approach significantly reduces the carbon footprint. Additionally, Waste Hub facilitates the community's transition to using upcycled and recycled products, thereby diminishing the reliance on natural resources and ensuring a lasting positive impact. The four core actions undertaken by each Waste Hub encompass awareness programmes on waste management, linking the value chain from collection to implementation, collaboration with various stakeholders including sanitation workers, communities, NGOs, industries, upcyclers, and recyclers, and the creation of innovative upcycled products for community use.
