Its volunteers are from varied backgrounds like counsellors, clinical psychologists, trainers, and professionals from related sciences. A child may have faced trauma due to many factors like household problems, abuse or plain neglect. The organisation uses various methods to address the child’s suffering like arts based therapy, hypnotherapy, play therapy, narrative therapy, healing through metaphors, access bar and mindfulness based practices. It is also working to spread awareness about the effect of trauma on behaviour. mental, and physical well-being of children. The content is based on the internationally recognised concept of Adverse Childhood Experiences (ACE) and the applicable protective approaches to soften the impact of traumatic events. It conducts training programmes and training workshops to help children with traumatic childhoods and adults to educate them to help such children. The topics vary from healing mind workshops, capacity building programmes for youth living in shelters, educating adults to be mindful parents, training mental health professionals and good and bad touch workshops for children. The organisation is also active in training health care professionals to manage “Challenging behaviour” displayed by traumatised children. It was actively involved in making the caregivers of NGO Udayan Care be aware about their own wellbeing and also conducts internal 3 day training for counsellors on childhood trauma, protection and counselling children at child care institutes. Under initiative Udaan it has placed a trained mental health care professional at the Child Care Institute(CCI). This expert’s role is to act as a caregiver to children and guide them to better mental wellbeing. It has come up with a “Grief support booklet” to aid readers and the common people to facilitate healing to a grieving family members or friends. The booklet enables the reader to understand the unstable nature of grief and appropriate ways to help deal with it.
