Smart Agri solutions works to help farmers growing pomegranate, banana and grapes increase their output and income through customised crop solutions. Read more It connects farmers and export groups to enable the farmer to reach out to global markets. It has developed the PQRE (Productivity, Quality, Residue free, Export) Model, a procedure following which leads to better quality of fruits and acceptance in the global markets like Europe. The Smart Agri team as part of its services visits the farm fortnightly to provide appropriate advice and suggest organic inputs to direct the farmer to a better crop yield and quality. It also provides training to farmers availing their services and charges an annual fee. Online consultation is also provided through their Smart Agri App. It has developed a the Smart Agri app, a mobile application specifically for pomegranate farmers which can be fed with details of the plot size, crop information etc. and it can provide inputs as to the crop schedule, alerts regarding local weather, pests and Government registration. Prospective buyers can use the application to see the stocks availability and the farmer with whom it is available, quality of the crop etc. The application is available in Marathi as well as English to cater to a larger audience. It has been awarded a grant of Rs 5 lakh from Unltd India and also for it contribution to society by the Solapur Journalists Association.
