Desi hangover was set up to provide livelihood and sustenance to the originators of the “Kolhapuri Chappals”, the cobbler community of Kolhapur who we Read morere unable to face the stiff competition from modern assembly line leather brands and declining demand for handmade products. It works on the philosophy of Be Indian, propagate Indian and uplift Indian. It passes orders to the leather craftsmen, displays and markets the handmade leather products in its stores located in India as well as the US and Singapore. It promotes the theme of “Desi” and “handmade” through providing handcrafted footwear to the general public. To help children from the community access quality education the organisation has adopted the Adarsh School. It helps the school by contributing to its infrastructure, text books and uniforms.
