The Skilling and Supported Employment Projects (SSEP) vertical consists of two activities. The Skill Development Centre (SDC) provides training in the soft skills such as teamwork, communication, problem-solving, work ethic, flexibility and adaptability and interpersonal skills that are required for most kinds of employment. We also provide training in the hard skills required in the F&B sector; more specifically those associated with work opportunities at Café Arpan and Arpan Food Services and other similar entities. The second activity under the SSEP is a supported employment initiative known as Arpan Food Services (AFS). The flagship program under AFS is Café Arpan which has generated immense interest in the community at large. We have dedicated teams of PwIDD who work in both the kitchen (providing freshly cooked meals) as well as Café Arpan. Currently, we have 38 PwIDD who work and train with us as a part of the SSEP with a waitlist of persons waiting to join.
