Aranyak Valley is working to retain local youth in the third and fourth tier cities like Silchar in the city itself and reduce migration to tier one c Read moreities in seach of jobs. It achieves this by building “pride habitats” both rural and urban. The youth are taught urban skills in the urban pride habitat which includes making them market ready through coaching by competent teachers and providing appropriate certifications and diplomas. Personal competence and self-awareness is also part of the curriculum besides exposing them to the local culture and eco-system. Its rural pride habitat on the other hand focusses on preservation of local vegetation and wild life, promote local artisans and encourage local traditions. It has also set up the “Aranyak Institute” where updated and latest job oriented skills are taught to the students who enrol in it. The courses include finance and taxation, computer courses and spoken English. Its projects include development of an application “Taratari” which helped group and distribution of food packets in the covid situation. It partnered with Keerti Knowledge and Skills Private Limited to form the Aranyak Keerti Association which is involved in teaching a broader set of skills in the North-East region like IT, Accounting, Designing, Programming, AutoCad, Animation etc. Through the campaign “Pride of Cachar” the organisation is trying to promote the history of Silchar and Its achievements can be summarized as: • NE Top 10 Start-up by indigralabs/ NABARD Agripilse Accelerator. • Recognised Start-up with MASI (Assam Start-up) & DIPP (Start-up India) Certification. • Included by Assam Start-up/IIMCIP-The Nest. • Selected by NEATHub -AAU Jorhat for Agripreneurship training. • Created "state of the art" infrastructure in remote corner of Assam/ NE India. • Created two Pride Habitats TM in true sense from scratch on Its own.
