Proximal Soilsens Technologies Pvt Ltd works on the Governments vision of “Per drop more crop”. It was founded by a group of students and professors o Read moref IIT Mumbai in 2017, to find ways of helping the average farmer understand the needs of their crops. It uses sensors, advanced technology and IOT platforms to arrive at precision results on important agricultural parameters. Its Soilsens system can analyse parameters like primary nutrients, secondary nutrients, pH levels, EC (Electrical conductivity) and OC (Organic carbon) and advices the farmer to take corrective steps and necessary action. The system can also estimate weather, soil data to guide specific interventions for ideal irrigation, ideal usage of fertiliser and disease prediction. Its products are useful to both farmers and corporates alike. The Soilsens systems present in the fields can keep tracking soil moisture content through sensors and can sent alerts to farmers on their mobiles to activate attached irrigation devices. It also sends weather alerts to the farmer to help schedule sowing, fertilisation and crop management activities. The farmer need not take their soil to labs to get it tested, The Soilsens system is being developed to provide such analysis to the farmer directly. Corporates look out for systems that can help them manage their large farms efficiently, Soilsens can help them in this by providing soil and weather data. The organisation also partners with corporates to spread awareness of technologies to farmers and help them select appropriate technology to assist them in the fields. It offers multiple products like Soilsens SM Sensor, Soilsens Station, Soilsens Weather Station, Soilsens SD, Soilsens GO and is planning to develop meters to measure chlorophyll, NPK, pH and TDK soil moisture. It has managed to increase the yield of maize by 10% in Telangana State, 25% saving of water and 20% in electricity in citrus crops in Maharashtra State besides water management in grapes farms and predicting tomato rot in tomatoes, 27% water savings and 8% increased yield in castor crop and savings in water and increased yield in potato crops in Gujarat State.
