Gurukul Foundation is dedicated to advancing sustainable agriculture in the remote hilly tribal areas of Malkangiri (Didadi, Bonda tribe), Koraput, Keonjhar, Mayurbhanj, Jagatsinghpur, Kandhmal, and others. Its programme focuses on promoting farming systems and practices that not only ensure the economic viability of agricultural production but also prioritize sustainable ecological methods. By implementing these initiatives, it aims to foster environmentally conscious and economically sustainable agricultural practices in these challenging regions.

Gurukul Foundation concentrates on child rights, education, and development, with a primary focus on advocating for children's rights and combatting child labour and abuse. It addresses the educational and developmental requirements of children in vulnerable situations. The organisation implements innovative school and training centre activities both within and outside of formal education systems, aiming for the comprehensive development of children, with a particular emphasis on empowering girls and those facing unique challenges.

Gurukul Foundation directs its efforts towards women's development and addressing gender issues by promoting a gender-sensitive atmosphere in society. Through a combination of direct and indirect methods, the organisation works towards creating an environment that respects and acknowledges gender diversity. Central to its social development programmes is the use of Information, Education, and Communication (IEC) tools, empowering women and adolescents to enhance control over their lives. The organisation is committed to addressing the educational and developmental needs of girls and adolescents, ensuring their holistic growth and fostering a more inclusive and equitable society.

Gurukul Foundation actively engages in awareness and capacity-building initiatives. Its programmes encompass raising awareness and providing training, with a specific focus on enhancing employability skills for Persons with Disabilities (PwDs). The organisation is dedicated to capacity building in various areas, including livelihood, education, health, and hygiene. By empowering individuals and communities through these initiatives, the Gurukul Foundation aims to foster sustainable development processes, bring about positive reforms, and facilitate smooth transitions towards improved well-being.

Gurukul Foundation initiated a program called IAS Gurukul, providing free coaching to numerous civil service aspirants in the state of Odisha. The programme extends support to individuals aspiring for positions such as IAS, IPS, and other Group A posts in services like PCS/Odisha Administrative Service and Odisha Police Service. Through this initiative, the organisation aims to contribute to the preparation and success of candidates pursuing careers in civil services, making education and training accessible to a wider audience in the state.
