Urmi Foundation started with research on the challenges faced by people with neurological disabilities. It works to improve the lives of these individ Read moreuals and their families by offering various therapies, education, and support programmes. It collaborates with schools, hospitals, and government agencies to achieve its goal of full inclusion for people with disabilities in society. Urmi focuses on cost-effective solutions that work well in underprivileged communities. Its efforts over the past decade have identified thousands of children in need and led to increased focus on helping those from low-income backgrounds.

    District

    Art therapy serves as a focused intervention for addressing educational hurdles such as comprehension difficulties, retention issues, and sensory or coordination challenges. By centring around artistic activities like painting, music, and storytelling, this therapeutic method aims to enhance cognitive, emotional, and sensory skills. Through integrating art into therapy sessions, individuals can experience a holistic and engaging learning environment that encourages growth and development in various domains.

  • Special Entrepreneurship Training

    Special Entrepreneurship Training aims to equip youth with entrepreneurial skills for achieving financial independence and societal dignity. It addresses challenges such as limited job opportunities, insufficient skill development, and low financial literacy. At Urmi, youth aged 18 and above undergo skill development programs, with active involvement from their parents. Furthermore, they assist in establishing and registering self-help groups for parents, fostering collaboration to empower both youth and families in overcoming employment barriers and improving financial literacy.
