Vrikshmaal
For 11 years, the organisation has planted trees along the banks and surroundings of the Ganga River, envisioning a magnificent necklace of greenery known as Vrikshmaal.
Partnering with the esteemed Atulya Ganga, the organisation confronts a crisis: the Ganga River's stretch has a meagre <2% green cover, a stark contrast to the 16% in the Ganga basin and 24% nationwide. Alarmingly, this area hosts some of the top 10 most polluted cities worldwide.
The organisation plants native, long-lasting trees, engaging citizens and particularly focusing on youth awareness along the entire river course.
The strategy stands on three pillars: engaging the masses, selecting planting spots carefully with appointed guardians, and utilizing a technology-driven platform to maintain a comprehensive database comprising geotagged photos, contact details, and consistent monitoring. -
JanAranya
The JanAranya program is a Green India Initiative that actively involves citizens in creating authentic native forests, mirroring natural ecosystems. It draws inspiration from the groundbreaking contributions of esteemed Botanist and Natural Forest Specialist Dr. Akira Miyawaki, along with the innovative works of Shri Shubhendu Sharma, the founder of Afforestt.
