SEARCH has constructed 1,556 Individual Household Toilets under the Swachh Bharat Mission (SBM) in Guntur and Prakasam districts of Andhra Pradesh. Awareness campaigns were conducted to ensure 100% usage, leading to 10 villages becoming Open Defecation Free (ODF). The government officially declared these villages ODF, and residents are consistently using the toilets. Following the elimination of open defecation, SEARCH shifted its focus to the next phase of sanitation improvement under the ODF+ initiative. In response to villagers' demand, a Rural Solid Waste Management program was launched as part of the ODF+ efforts.
