SRUTI (Society for Rural Urban & Tribal Initiative) works with a vision to empower underserved communities towards sustainable economic development. I Read moret supports social action by partnering with stakeholders through the processes of advocacy, engagement, association, capacity building and solidarity. Its primary method of work involves the SRUTI Fellowship programme through which the Society funds and aids individual fellows or group of fellows to pursue their beneficial initiatives directed at the development of the community.
Action
Through its fellowship programme, SRUTI identifies and invests in dynamic individuals who work towards the ideals of a more equitable society, empowering oppressed and vulnerable communities to access equality and justice.

The central theme of SRUTI’s work involves empowering its fellows who may be individuals or a group of individuals working to develop remote and economically challenged communities. It funds and assists the fellows to tackle the key issues of Displacement, Water, Land and Forest rights, Governance, Caste and Gender, Education, Right to the City and Livelihood. The fellows are supported to initiate collective action and bring positive change.

Milestones & Track Record
SRUTI's achievements include securing a relief package of Rs 1,200 crore for those affected by the Gosikhurd Dam Project, saving 52 villages from dam submergence in Jharkhand, and securing 3,000 hectares of land under the Forest Rights Act in Chhattisgarh.
