The organisation was founded in 1929 in Mumbai and has inspired many more entities to be formed like the Rotaract clubs in schools and the Inner Wheel Club.

Programs

Animal Welfare Programmes
RCB regularly conducts stray feeding sessions where volunteers are mobilized to fan out into localities and provide food to stray and homeless animals. It has donated an ambulance van and ECR unit to the BSPCA to attend to injured and neglected animals requiring medical aid and conduct ECR tests on the animals to treat them efficiently.

Education Programmes
The organisation runs multiple programmes on education viz Bhavishya Yaan, Lighthouse, Scholarships, Vocational training, Child Welfare Committees, Echo initiative and also runs the Anusuya Devi Tapariya Junior College. All its efforts are directed towards encouraging education and facilitating it to the extent possible.

Healthcare Programmes
It runs the Phiroze Ratan Shah Vakil Eye Centre and Ajit Deshpande Medical Centre to facilitate healthcare besides conducting yoga and cancer screening camps for helping improve lifestyle and assist the needy. It also operates the RCB medical clinic which is a dispensary serving underprivileged populations with medical services.

Ananda Yaan Programme
Its Ananda Yaan Programme focuses on senior citizens by facilitating improvement in their dignity. The programme provides residence and conducts events for senior citizens like legal awareness drives, festival celebrations, encourages arts, provides opportunities to start small shops and businesses, picnics and medical camps etc. all are aimed to ease the lives of senior citizens.

Environment Programmes
RCB also works in the space of environment conservation conducting awareness sessions to end the use of plastics, running rural development projects, promoting collection drives to collect e-waste, planting Miyawaki forests, promoting solar electrification in villages through its Chirag programme and conducting excursions and heritage walks to inform people to help in keeping our environment clean and pollution free.
