Abhikshamta Education Foundation

Inspired by the traditional ideals of  ‘'सा विद्या या विमुक्तये'”  (knowledge is one that liberates), alumni and students of IIT Bombay came together Read more in 2020 to set up Abhikshmata Education Foundation, a section-8 company (NGO) to bring positive changes in the lives of underprivileged children, their families and communities through education. At Abhikshmata, we see education as a means of socio-cultural liberation and economic empowerment of underprivileged children and also as a tool for the development of character, competence and commitment. We follow a path  “Educate. Impact. Succeed.”  We impart quality education to children from underprivileged and marginalized sections of society through state-of-the-art interventions focusing on infrastructure, learning aids, development of a socially meaningful curriculum. We foster a child-centred joyful learning practice and motivate children to be self-reliant. We believe in imparting pragmatic skills that are helpful to them and important for their continuing education. Such skills include the ability to communicate confidently, focus on tasks and take initiative in seeking information. We at Abhikshamta offer quality education and scholarships for bright girls from marginalized communities. Our aim is to support the dream of every underprivileged student to construct their future with perseverance. We strengthen their inner voice by driving away their fear of suppression and by bringing freedom into every sphere of their lives. We strongly believe that if we need to make the world a better place for tomorrow, young students need to be architects of the future.
