Impact

Over these 40 years, the impact of the foundation has been immeasurable touching the lives of millions of individuals through equipping 100’s of rural hospitals PAN INDIA with medical diagnostic equipment as well as mobile vans, supporting treatment of thousands of cancer patients annually, providing scholarships for meritorious and deserving students and holistic development of rural schools in India. NDF works at grassroot levels and due diligence is done for every single case. The first bone marrow transplant in India was supported by Nargis Dutt Foundation in 1983. Critical Care equipment was donated to Tata Memorial Hospital in Mumbai, after which the ICU was named after Nargis Dutt, and was inaugurated by the late Prime Minister Rajiv Gandhi. Nargis Dutt Foundation also had its presence wherever there was a national calamity in India, be it the earthquakes in Latur and Bhuj or the floods in Mumbai, Bihar (2008) and Raigad (2021). The Nargis Dutt Foundation Medical Van equipped with a mobile X-ray machine was the first to reach Bhuj after the devastation cause by the earthquake. When Bihar was hit by the floods in 2008, Nargis Dutt Foundation raised funds that treated over 30000 people, over a period of 3 months, through medical camps in the affected areas. In the field of Education, over a lakh students have benefitted through our intervention with scholarships, development of rural schools and providing vocational training. In 2020, Nargis Dutt foundation worked extensively for covid relief and was conferred the prestigious PICC Award by the Governor of Maharashtra. Nargis Dutt Foundation was also recently conferred with the prestigious ACCI 2022 Cancer Crusader Award in Delhi.

Vision and Mission

The foundation believes no lives should be lost due to unaffordability of medical treatment and no child should be deprived of a good education due to lack of funds.
