Programs

  • Anna Daana Programme: Food for the Less Privileged

Anna Daana, a programme implemented by Prasanna Trust, focuses on providing daily meals for the less privileged. The initiative recognizes the impact of poor nutrition and health on the socio-economic systems. It firmly believes in the significance of nutritious meals, not only as sustenance but also as a means of socialization. To ensure this, the programme follows specific guidelines for serving food: meals are offered in a clean and open space, which is prepared daily; children are required to wash their hands with soap before eating; sufficient portions are provided, and second helpings are available if needed; and no food is wasted, with any excess being redistributed to those in need.

  • Prasanna Jyothi Programme : Home for the Homeless Girls

The Prasanna Trust runs Prasanna Jyothi, a programme that offers a secure haven to orphaned children in their crucial developmental phase. Every child, regardless of their circumstances, deserves love, care, and attention. Unfortunately, some children lack a support system. Prasanna Jyothi aims to address this by providing girls with nourishment, education, shelter, and a sense of hope for their future. The programme ensures that the girls have access to modern amenities for both academics and sports, empowering them to excel in life.

  • Gyana Daana Programme: The Gift of Education

When families face crises that demand tough choices regarding their children's education, young girls are often the ones left behind, missing out on opportunities for a brighter future. Education is an invaluable gift for any child. The Prasanna Trust's Gyana Daana programme aims to engage society in the development of vulnerable children and youth by focusing on education.

  • Arogya Daana Programme: Support for Free Medical Care

Prasanna Trust offers support through its Aarogya Daana programme, focusing on providing free medical care to those in need. The trust extends free cardiac care and heart procedures to individuals from economically weaker backgrounds, particularly the poorest of the poor who cannot afford such services. It also organises free eye screening camps and provides cataract surgeries for underprivileged individuals across different cities in India, collaborating with renowned hospitals. Additionally, Prasanna Trust assists handicapped individuals by providing artificial limbs and callipers, which significantly enhance their quality of life and overall well-being.

  • Scholarship Programme

Prasanna Trust extends scholarships to academically talented students facing financial difficulties, ensuring they can continue their education without the risk of dropping out. Financial constraints often compel exceptional students to abandon their studies. In many cases, their parents' insufficient earnings or the presence of multiple siblings prevent them from allocating adequate resources to each child's education. Consequently, it is the determined, eager, and high-achieving students who are forced to discontinue their education. Prasanna Trust thoroughly evaluates scholarship applications, carefully reviewing documents and conducting personal interviews to select deserving students for the scholarships.

  • Disaster Relief Programme

Prasanna Trust actively engages in disaster relief efforts, swiftly responding to natural calamities and emerging as one of the primary organisations offering assistance. Its response encompasses various measures such as providing cash aid to affected families for purchasing essential items, prioritizing and delivering medical care to the most vulnerable individuals at security screening centres, and extending critical protection services to women and children in need.
