Sharanalayam is a caring home established in 2001, providing shelter, medical care, and education to over 200 disadvantaged individuals, including aba Read morendoned children of beggars, sex workers, HIV-infected, mentally retarded, and mentally ill. It relies on public donations to sustain its charity efforts, enabling it to support the needy with essential necessities and education, allowing more than 50 children to attend school with pride. Sharanalayam - Jothi operates a dedicated facility for over 80 abandoned mentally ill and mentally retarded individuals found wandering the streets. Offering them shelter, food, and medical care, the organisation faces increasing challenges as the number of less fortunate individuals in need continues to grow. Despite the difficulties, it remains committed to its mission of caring for the poor and needy, relying on the generosity of the public to support its compassionate work.
Action
Sharanalayam operates multiple homes including Dhaya for children aged 5-18, Jothi for mentally and physically challenged individuals, Sweehar for newborns to 5-year-olds, Saathvik for children with autism, and Priyam for abandoned senior citizens.

Home for Children- Dhaya
StateDhaya serves as a loving refuge for abandoned and orphaned children, cared for by Thaiamma. It stands on 1.5 acres of Coimbatore highway, with a 20,000Sq.ft built-up area. The home houses 150 youngsters aged from newborn to 14yrs. Approximately 60 school-going children receive education in nearby Government-aided schools and colleges.
The children receive three vegetarian meals daily, along with snacks and milk. Their health and hygiene are supervised through regular visits from doctors. New entrants, especially undernourished ones, receive special attention and diets.
Dhaya fosters holistic growth, providing extracurricular activities like yoga, meditation, karate, dance classes, indoor/outdoor games, and recreational opportunities like music, TV, videos, pets, and picnics. It aims to infuse joy and hope in the lives of these children as they find security and love within its nurturing embrace.

Since its inception with 7 orphaned children in 2001, Sharanalayam has grown to care for over 150 individuals, facilitated 75 baby adoptions through Sweehar, and established multiple specialized care centers.
