As per the National Programme for Control of Blindness (NPCB), India harbours a third of the global visually impaired population. Despite the significant issue of preventable blindness, studies reveal that only a fraction of those requiring treatment actually seek it. The Hospital initiated "Project Disha," an eye care community endeavour aiming to proactively assist these patients directly in their communities instead of relying on them to seek treatment at hospitals.
The objective is to eliminate 'Avoidable Blindness' by providing essential eye care services to underserved communities. Within Project Disha, the Hospital ensures the entire eye care journey for patients is covered financially, relieving them of any economic burden. Conducting preemptive check-ups for individuals and effectively managing their entire treatment process lies at the heart of Project Disha's mission.
