Rescue And Resettlement Of Children In Need Of Care & Protection From Railway Platforms
SATHI is a national organization level working on the issue of child protection, with a specific focus on children who come in contact with railways. SATHI was founded by Pramod Kulkarni, an alumnus of IIM Ahmedabad in 1992 and was formally registered as a Society in 1997 in Raichur District of Karnataka and is presently headquartered in Bangalore. SATHI primarily works on outreach and rescue of runaway children, providing them short-term shelter care, counselling and motivation and reunification with their families. Since its inception, the organization has helped more than 1 lac children reunite with their families. The organization received the National Award for Child Welfare from the Honorable President of India in November 2015
