Programs

  • Jeevandaan

The initiative, known as "Jeevandaan," offers nutritional support to individuals who face starvation during illness and provides assistance to those afflicted with TB. The programme aims to aid TB patients in their recovery by providing them with essential nutrition. This support is particularly crucial for patients who struggle to afford or access proper food during their treatment and recovery.
Focused on patients receiving treatment at BMC & TMC hospitals, the initiative is the result of a comprehensive survey conducted to understand the financial and physical challenges faced by these individuals. Following this assessment, the Aarna Foundation provides aid to those patients experiencing severe hardship.

Aarna Foundation, in partnership with local residents, has launched a Beach Cleaning Initiative conducted every weekend and on public holidays. The team's goal is to restore the pristine condition of the beaches. Commencing the project by tidying up Mumbai's Dadar beach and Worli Fort, previously transformed into open dump-yards, the collective effort of dedicated volunteers has resulted in the removal of tons of waste.
The Aarna team aspires to rejuvenate these shorelines, aiming to transform them into potential tourist attractions that will invigorate the local economy of Dadar and Worli.

  • School for underprivileged kids

Aarna Foundation initiated "The School Bachao" project with the aim of ensuring the education of 400 children by providing them with high-quality education at affordable rates. By the middle of May 2018, the school was nearing completion, and to support this noble cause, the Aarna Foundation launched a campaign named "Rang Do" to embellish the school walls. The project progressed swiftly, and soon, the children were ready to embark on their educational journey at the newly established "Aarna English School."
On June 16, 2018, Aarna English School opened its doors, marking a new chapter in education for 400 children. The school's mission was to bring back smiles to these underprivileged kids and offer them free, high-quality education.

  • Cotton sanitary napkin distribution

When discussing women's liberation and empowerment, it's crucial to address a fundamental health concern related to them—menstruation. In our country, menstruation remains a taboo topic for many. Countless women endure unhygienic conditions during their menstrual cycles. In the past, women used cloth pads, washing and reusing them, but this practice didn't guarantee hygiene. Modern sanitary napkins, while offering convenience, pose a significant environmental threat as their disposal is a challenge. Aarna Foundation endeavours to provide women in slums and low-income households with hygienic alternatives. It distributes sanitary napkins made from cotton and cloth to less privileged women. The ongoing efforts include exploring disposal methods for these napkins. Distribution is either free or offered at a nominal cost based on the recipients' needs. The foundation is working on acquiring machines to convert used sanitary napkins into useful compost.
