Shoshit Seva Sangh aims to bring about transformative change through quality education. It focuses on addressing the dire living conditions of the Musahar community, a marginalized group of bonded agricultural labourers in Bihar, India. With an estimated population of 3.5 million, Musahars face extreme poverty, low literacy rates (less than 3%), and limited access to government welfare measures. Children often work alongside their parents for meagre wages, perpetuating the cycle of poverty. Since its inception, the programme has grown significantly, starting with just four students in 2006 and now providing comprehensive education, including boarding, clothing, and meals, to over 500 children from various districts of Bihar. Through its CBSE-accredited school, the programme aims to break the cycle of poverty by offering education and opportunities for a brighter future.
