Sacred Earth Trust is presently dedicated to the development of urban, community-managed green spaces aimed at addressing issues such as climate change, deteriorating air quality, and the diminishing wildlife habitats. Our focus lies in establishing connectivity with existing forested areas, forming a network of interconnected urban green zones to enhance the landscape's ability to support biodiversity. These small forest patches will also serve as community-managed sacred groves, fostering a revival of nature-worship-based belief systems to create additional social cohesion. The deliberate selection of Non-Timber Forest Product (NTFP) rich native species of flora ensures community involvement and ownership in the project sites. Notably, a community-managed sacred grove has already been successfully established in NOIDA, Uttar Pradesh.
